Location Requirement:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the Mid-Atlantic region (Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia).
The Construction Site Acquisition and Vendor Management team manages land acquisition, contractor engagement, and site readiness for residential and commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate has experience in property acquisition, vendor management, and construction project coordination. This role will support breaking ground on new housing and commercial development projects!
Key job responsibilities

Lead site acquisition and entitlement efforts for construction locations.

Work with internal teams (Legal, Finance, Planning, Construction, and Permitting) to contract and manage vendors, ensuring all legal, permitting, and due diligence requirements are completed.

Solicit and evaluate proposals for site acquisition, construction, and specialized trade services (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry).

Negotiate and finalize contracts with vendors, including scope, pricing, and timelines.

Oversee vendor activities from site preparation to project handoff, coordinating schedules with internal construction teams.
A day in the life
This is a fast-paced position working across multiple construction projects. Daily responsibilities include:

Vendor management through calls, site visits, and meetings.

Coordination with internal construction, design, and permitting teams.

Site inspections and contractor oversight to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Contract negotiation and execution with construction vendors and subcontractors.

Problem-solving and streamlining site acquisition and construction processes.
About the team
The Site Acquisition and Vendor Management team works closely with project managers, architects, construction crews, and legal and permitting departments. We also frequently coordinate with municipal offices and local authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
Basic Qualifications

3+ years of experience in construction project coordination, property acquisition, or vendor management.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to track multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with residential or commercial construction projects in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Familiarity with permitting, zoning regulations, and local construction codes.

Experience in negotiating contracts with subcontractors and trade vendors.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary ranges from $65,000/year up to $120,000/year depending on experience and location. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k) plan, training and development opportunities, and career growth pathways.
